Facilities
The University of Hawaii at Manoa Tennis Complex will be used for all
matches. An alternate site may be used as determined by the tournament
directors if necessary to complete all matches due to unforeseen delays.
Scheduling
Match times will be posted at the Draw Party on Thursday evening, May
6, 2010 at TBA. If you have Internet access, the entire draw will be posted
on the GLTA website. Tournament play will commence on May 7, 2010 at 8
a.m. Final round matches will be played on Sunday, May 9, 2010. Tournament
officials will make every effort to notify participants of any changes
in scheduled match time. However, it is the player's responsibility to
verify all match times. Should scheduled matches end early, the next match's
starting time may be advanced. Players will be notified by the tournament
officials.
Draw
For the events listed, the number in parenthesis indicates the maximum
draw per event. If some draws are not filled, others may be increased.
An event with less than eight (8) entries may be round robin format. Entrants
in a division being consolidated will be given the choice of a refund
of their entry fee or participation in another division.
No
refunds will be given once the draws are made, April 28, 2010.
Wait List
A wait list will be maintained if there are more entries than can be accommodated
in the draw. Entrants placed on a wait list will be notified. If entrants
withdraw from the tournament prior to the draw being made, players on
the wait list will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, based
on Division ranking.
Seeding
The published GLTA
rankings as released by the GLTA prior to the tournament will determine
seeding.
Rules
USTA tournament rules and Code of Ethics will apply. The Tournament Directors
will interpret and enforce all rules according to the GLTA
tournament rulebook. Their ruling will be final.
Scoring
All matches will be best two out of three sets, no-ad scoring with a 12-point
tiebreaker at 6-all (unless announced prior to the start of play). The
Tournament Directors have the authority to invoke the use of pro sets,
if weather delays require such, in order to complete the tournament. The
Tournament Directors also reserve the right to adjust the scoring of events
if extenuating circumstances threaten completion of the tournament.
Default
Players must report to the tournament desk 15 minutes prior to a scheduled
match regardless of court availability. The USTA point penalty system
will be enforced.
Warm-Up
A five-minute warm-up including serving will be strictly enforced on the
courts used for competition.
Entry Deadline
Entry Form must be postmarked by Monday, April 19, 2010. No telephone
or fax entries will be accepted. Doubles teams will not be entered into
the draw until completed applications and entry fee are received from
both players.
Confirmation
Entry confirmation will be by e-mail to all participants (or by mail if
no e-mail is available) whose entries are received by the deadline. Late
entries will be confirmed by e-mail or phone.
Consolation Draw**
Participants who do not win their first round singles match may compete
in the consolation draw. Players receiving a bye or a default in the first
round and do not win their second round may enter the consolation bracket
in the same manner. Consolation format will be an eight (8) game, no-ad
pro set, 9 point tiebreaker at 7-all, except the finals which will be
regular scoring, 2 out of 3 sets. Consolation matches will be subject
to Tournament Director's discretion.

Time, court availability and weather permitting **
Rain Out
In the event of a rain out after the draw has been completed, and/or during
any phase of the tournament, there will be NO REFUNDS. Participants are
to call the Tournament Directors for further information concerning tournament
play. The Awards Banquet will be held as scheduled.
NSF Checks
Any returned checks will be considered non-payment and any charges incurred
are the responsibility of the player. Players' positions in the draw will
not be held for them, but they may be re-entered if space is available
when the correct and full payment is received.
